These are so lovely Todd - you have such an amazing landscape around you and the stands of Aspen are just incredible with their golden colour. I do love your more detailed images especially the yellow leaves against the peeling wood and the red on the red door. We've been blessed across the northern hemisphere with one of the best autumnal displays for years and you've brought the full spirit of that with these images - beautiful work!
Thank you, Lin! This autumn has been especially lovely, and I’ve really appreciated having extra time to enjoy its colorful display. I was fortunate to be in the mountains of Colorado at the start of the season, which gave me an early glimpse of the foliage. The image of the yellow leaves on the wood was taken there, at the ghost town I visited over the summer. Thank you again for your kind comment.
Thank you, Davor! I’m glad you appreciated the sequencing of the photos, and the second one is one of my favorites too. I was initially disappointed while photographing that spot because there were so many clouds blocking the sun, but I got lucky when enough light broke through to create some drama in the scene.
Gorgeous images Todd! I love the incredible strength of the reds and yellows! My favorite is the low angle shot of the leaves. You really get a perspective of how vast it is. Nice work!
Thank you, Juliette. I wish I had thought to take the low-angle shots earlier in the season, before the color faded on the fallen leaves along the trails. There’s always next year …
Thank you, Manuela. I’m so glad you picked up on the sequence since it was quite intentional. As I started looking through the countless photos I took this season, it occurred to me that I wanted to tell their story as they transition from early fall toward winter. I wasn’t sure if that would come across, so I’m grateful that you and others have noticed and commented on it.
Wow! What a beautiful, tender farewell. Your words hold the hush of autumn's leaves and the quiet wisdom of seasons turning. I love, love, love the way you take us through the colours by structuring them on the page. Thank you so much, Todd, for sharing this gentle beauty. Your images are just astonishing! 💛🙏🍂
Thank you for your kind comment, Deborah. I love sharing nature’s beauty and am always grateful when others enjoy my images. I also appreciate that you noticed how I attempted to “take us through the colors”, as I tried to sequence the photos from grand to small, and from early autumn to its end, when frost begins to appear on the ground. 🙏

Beautiful work. I love the combination of different distances. I also love the smell of fall!
Thank you! I intentionally focused more on close ups this year, so I'm glad you enjoyed the variety.
The sequence of these images is really wish wonderful!
As you slowly go through them, the colors intensify and then slowly fade again towards the end. It’s a beautiful experience.
